Hyperion, also known as Saturn VIII, is a natural satellite of the outer planet, Saturn. Hyperion was discovered on September 16, 1848 by the astronomer William Bond, making this the first non-spherical moon ever discovered. It is the largest non-spherical body in the Solar System.

Surface Features[]

The surface of Hyperion is mostly consisting of craters formed during the creation of the solar system. The surface is porous, like a sponge. Because of this the body has a low density.

Composition[]

The composition of Hyperion consists of water ice, with only a small amount of rock.
