Prometheus, also known as Saturn XVI, is a natural satellite of the outer planet, Saturn. Prometheus was discovered sometime in October 1980 by an American astronomer from the Voyager 1 probe.

The surface of Prometheus is remarkably smooth and consistent, and the planet commonly interacts with the F ring of Saturn.
